The Castle of Conestoga Lake

The Castle

This summer I was a part of creating a unique, custom-built home near Conestoga Lake. The property sits on an 8.9-acre lot 10 minutes from Denton, Nebraska. Now to refer to it as a house is almost an insult, this 10,000 sq ft "Castle," is anything from the ordinary.

It has 8 Bedrooms (3 Masters), and 6 Bathrooms to start. If that's not enough the entire top of the roof is part of the decking. The house has an open layout, with more than enough space for anything you could possibly dream of. It has a three stall garage with a mechanics pit for all of your toys.

My favorite part of this project has been installing the siding. We are using a product called Effis in a very unusual way. Without spoiling any of the methods used to create the "Castle's," Stone effect. I will provide some photos of our current progress. Keep in mind this is not a finalized product, rather a live update.

The number of hours that my boss and good friend Mike Faustman, has put into this one of a kind build makes a 40 hour work week look childish. Each stone was hand carved and designed by Mike, for those of you interested in some other custom work he has done check out his website http://frostyeffects.com

If interested in further progress feel free to come and check it out!
