Lake of the Ozark's

Lake of the Ozark's is a man-made lake located in central Missouri. It is one of my favorite vacation destinations as I have been visiting since I was 13 years old. Now there are a lot of great lakes to visit in the Midwest, so what makes this one so special? 

For starters, it is a huge tourist destination. Every year the Lake is host to many events, from wakeboarding competitions to the infamous boating races. I just got back from a weekend trip with my roommates and decided to share our trip! Our cabin is located on mile marker 42 1/2, this is a prime location with fun around every corner. 

One of my favorite parts of the trip are always the "boat days," fill up a cooler and hit the waters for a day on the lake. Coasting to different coves and checking out the beautiful homes is a great way to motivate yourself for success. 

From million dollar mansions to million dollar boats, there's no shortage of money down here. One of my favorite homes actually hit the market last month for a whopping 5.9 million. This includes the dock and all of its toys. 

Aside from dreaming of the good life, there is quite a bit of fun you can have on the water. If you're big into water skiing, wakeboarding or just tubing there isn't a better place to be. 

Now for the adult audience if bar hopping is your thing there's no shortage of that. To keep it brief I will list off a couple of my favorite spots to hit. If this is an all-day excursion you may as well hit them all. Shady Gators is by far one of the more popular bar and grills along with Dog Days and coconuts. However, you can never go wrong with Bear Bottoms or Captain Rons. 

Whether you just want to hit the water, relax or soak some suds, the Ozark's is a must go!

The Castle of Conestoga Lake

The Castle This summer I was a part of creating a unique, custom-built home near Conestoga Lake. The property sits on an 8.9-acre lot 10 minutes from Denton, Nebraska. Now to refer to it as a house is almost an insult, this 10,000 sq ft "Castle," is anything from the ordinary.  It has 8 Bedrooms (3 Masters), and 6 Bathrooms to start. If that's not enough the entire top of the roof is part of the decking. The house has an open layout, with more than enough space for anything you could possibly dream of. It has a three stall garage with a mechanics pit for all of your toys.  My favorite part of this project has been installing the siding. We are using a product called Effis in a very unusual way. Why Empathy

Why Empathy? Some of the best advice I have received (from my mother of course) is to learn the skill of empathy. Of course, at the time I didn’t understand how looking from another’s point of view would help impact my life. It wasn’t until much later I came to the realization that life extends beyond my own point of view, and how impactful you can be to others. So how does this apply to writing? Well here’s the kicker, empathy is a versatile skill that can be applied not only to writing but sales and life. Good writing consists of getting into the consumer, or audiences mindset. You need to understand their point of view, wants, needs, and tailor a message fit for them. Anyone can spew out ideas and content. The key to success is creating content that is specific to a customer and their needs.
